Kate Chang is Managing Director, China, for the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (LA Tourism). Based in Beijing, she leads the organizations market strategy, airline partnerships, travel trade engagement, and marketing integration across Greater China.
Since joining LA Tourism in 2013 and being promoted to Managing Director in 2022, Kate has been overseeing the Board’s Greater China footprint into a four-city network and helped build non-stop air services between Los Angeles and 14 Chinese cities, contributing to record visitation of 1.2 million Chinese travelers in 2019. Under her leadership, the China team maintained active engagement with Chinese industry partners throughout the pandemic, forging a highly visible profile for the market recovery and earning widespread industry respect.
Kate’s career spans more than four decades in global tourism, including leadership roles at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and the China National Tourism Office in Sydney and India.
A graduate of Beijing International Studies University, she is also a mentor and advocate for women in business, empowering young professionals to pursue leadership roles.

Miriam Wickertsheim is a senior management consultant and executive search professional with over 15 years of experience supporting European and international companies in China. She specializes in executive recruitment, leadership advisory, and cross-border business strategy, helping organizations navigate complex markets and talent landscapes.
Based in Shanghai, Miriam has built strong relationships with senior executives across industries and is recognized for her pragmatic insights into leadership, talent retention, and organizational effectiveness. She also supports Women Leadership with the World Academy for the Future of Women and is an angel investor supporting emerging startups.
A German national, Miriam combines European strategic thinking with deep expertise in China, regularly sharing her insights through industry reports, events, and professional publications.
