The British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai was formed by, and is operated in, strict accordance to its Constitution. The Constitution was last amended on 13 January 2023 by the Chamber’s Executive Committee.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai is the pre-eminent member driven organization supporting Canadian business and community interests. It was founded in 1996 by a group of locally-based Canadian companies and entrepreneurs with the support of the Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai, and was officially inaugurated in name in June 2008. CanCham informs and promotes Canadian interests in Eastern China and fosters connections within the Canadian business community and with its Chinese counterparts. 

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai is led by a Board of Directors composed of 11 elected directors and 1 ex-officio director. The directors are either Canadian MNCs’ representatives or Canadian entrepreneurs running their own business in China. They represent Canadian industrial diversity and strength on the business scene in China. 

Board members are responsible for forming and driving the policies as well as providing guidance on all the activities of the Chamber. The Advisory Council complements the knowledge and skills of the Board of Directors. It contributes to the effective governance of the Chamber and strengthens relationships with leaders in the Canadian business community in China. The Executive arm of the Chamber takes care of the daily operations. The Benelux Chamber of Commerce is the Benelux business platform in China. Its members, leading companies from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, share an active interest in developing trade and business in China. The Chamber of Commerce is officially recognised and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in China. 

Benelux Chamber has been growing at a steady pace since it was established in 2001. It currently contains 3 chapters; Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (Pearl River Delta). It is the prime platform for the Benelux business community to get together.The Benelux Chamber currently has over 350 members, aspiring to grow further every day. Its base consists of Large Enterprises, Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) as well as individuals with an active interest in developing their business in China. As an independent, non-profit organisation, the Benelux Chamber is managed by a full-time secretariat of both Benelux and Chinese staff. All practises are guided by an active Board of Directors. Benelux Chamber sustains itself through government subsidies, membership subscriptions, sponsorships and event fees. 

On May 27, 2010, Benelux Chamber received the Accreditation Certificate from the BLCCA (Accreditation Programme for Belgian and Belgian-Luxembourg Chambers of Commerce Abroad).

The Australian Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (AustCham Shanghai) is the peak body for Australian business in China. As a membership-based organisation, AustCham Shanghai represents more than 350 businesses and individuals providing support, education, advocacy and business services.AustCham Shanghai is a bridge between Australian and Chinese organisations, facilitating connectivity and promoting bilateral trade between Australia and China. The Chamber successfully links Australian organisations with Chinese counterparts and potential business partners, enhancing the trade relationship between the two countries. China is Australia’s largest trading partner and in 2017 the two-way trade relationship was worth over $183.4 billion – a growing dynamic that AustCham Shanghai is well placed to play an active role in. 

Founded in 1994, AustCham Shanghai is now the largest Australian Chamber of Commerce in the Greater China region. As the trading relationship has evolved beyond energy and resources to encapsulate a wide variety of sectors, AustCham Shanghai has also grown to represent businesses in every sector, from manufacturing to health and aged care, to education and financial services. 

Today, our Chamber brings the business community together through membership services, events, delegations, project management, representation and advocacy. AustCham Shanghai exists only to serve its members. The Chamber also undertakes significant fundraising efforts to support our Corporate Social Responsibility partners each year, having raised RMB 5,000,000 over the past 20 years.
