IPWS Breakfast Conversations with Eloise Zhang

What does it take to be the glue that quietly holds big things together?

Join us for an intimate breakfast conversation featuring Eloise Zhang, Project and Industry Relations Manager at BritCham Shanghai.

In her dynamic role, Eloise works both behind the scenes and at the forefront, connecting the dots across industries, aligning stakeholders, and turning complexity into action.

Behind every seamless event, cross-sector collaboration, or high-functioning team, there’s often someone quietly holding the pieces together. They’re not always in the spotlight, but they are the glue, navigating competing priorities, diverse personalities, and sectoral silos to make things work.

In this session, we shine a light on the often-invisible labour of coordination and connection. Blending personal stories with insights from systems thinking, Eloise will share how she builds bridges, aligns moving parts effectively.

Key Takeaways

A systems-thinking lens to help you map complexity and make collaborative work feel more manageable.

Strategies for building trust across sectors, hierarchies, and personalities, even when expectations clash.

Practical tips for stakeholder alignment: from navigating conflicting demands to setting up shared success.

Insights on leading from the middle: how to stay effective, respected, and well-boundaried when you’re not “in charge.”

Why This Matters

A large part of business leadership is about holding things (and people) together. Yet this kind of work is often undervalued, misunderstood, or quietly exhausting. That’s why we’re opening up a space to name it, share skills and tools for doing it well, and connect with others who are doing the same, behind the scenes and on the frontlines. Because when we recognize and resource the glue, we make the whole system stronger.
