Exciting news! International Professional Women’s Society officially launched the IPWS Volunteer Crew!

Last week at a vibrant spot in Shanghai, IPWS held its first Volunteer Event to find active members and newcomers to support our team and operations. As you may know, IPWS is a globally influential community of women with diverse professional backgrounds. We provide members of our community with different platforms to connect, build networks, and foster personal and professional growth … and now our latest initiative is to expand and encourage our community to give back to other women while supporting various projects & events in the city. IPWS has a volunteer Board of Directors and 3 interns who all support and give their time to the operations of the society… regularly running events (2-3 each month), social media groups & news, and sharing information for all professional women in Shanghai.

The new volunteers took up various positions with the IPWS Volunteer Crew, in the areas of marketing, events and also for the upcoming flagship event for IPWS & the broader community, the Women Leadership Award. In 2016, the WLA was nestled within the Inaugural IPWS Leadership Summit in May and we celebrated the WLA winners of our community while also learning about leadership and what it means for all of us. You can hear all about the IPWS Leadership Summit here in the Limitless Laowai podcast.

Last week everyone enjoyed a great atmosphere of lively discussions about volunteering with IPWS at the beautifully colourful Sproutlifestyle cafe & event space. All IPWS Board Members were overwhelmed by the positive feedback as more than 30 members and newly interested women signed up willing to contribute. We’re all extremely excited and welcome you all, and looking forward to working with our IPWS Volunteers in the coming months!

And, it’s not too late: If you still want to join us as volunteer, feel free to contact Ellen via membership@ipwsconnect.com and if you’d like to still belong to the community, but just as a valued member, you can do so online.

Thank you very much to everyone who came!
